I  am originally from Haiti and am the daughter of businesswoman Therese Larose and foreman Antoine Cormier. I fell in love with the stage in elementary school when I won a part in a French play for Mother’s Day. I started to write soon thereafter, producing a number of French poems.

The arts have been a constant factor in my life for as long as I can remember. I find art to be a channel through which my emotions and interests can be expressed. Both inside and outside the classroom, visual arts have been my strongest passion and interest, in particular using different media and new techniques. I feel that painting allows me to capture a single moment in time as I see it, in the tones and colours I see.

After completing high school, I went straight to the Faculty of Arts to study plastic arts, painting, and dramatic art (theater). I studied for three years. During this time, I participated in three exhibitions of fine arts. The first exhibition took place at the Faculty of Arts itself, the second was held in Paris, and the third was held at the Haitian French Institute. Just before I completed my degree, I departed for Canada.

In Canada, I studied at La Cite Collegiale, where I graduated with a degree in Administration. I then pursued further studies at the University of Quebec in the Industrial Relations program.

While in the program, I felt that it was not what I wanted for a long-term career and went to the School of Performing Arts, where I studied screenwriting. There, I enjoyed the experience of writing two commercials and two shorts, The Misery Of Melody and The Train Station, both shot by Christ Production. Then, I moved to New York to develop my acting career and took Film Workshop at Studio Madeleine in New York.

After New York, I moved to Philadelphia, where I took On Camera Audition Technique at Kathy Wickline, Casting Philadelphia, and Commercial Workshop at Mike Lemon, Casting Philadelphia. These courses put my career as an actress on the right path and provided me with the opportunity to perform in films and commercials.

I moved back to Canada to pursue my acting career and took Acting Technique and Acting for Film and TV. While taking these courses, I continued to work on my career as a screenwriter. After completing the courses, I spent most of my time working on my scripts and on the perfection of my style.

My first screenplay was The Perfect Stranger, a romantic comedy/thriller. I then wrote three other screenplays: The Lost Child, a drama/thriller; The Shape Man, a teen horror; and The Wedding, a drama/comedy.

I’ve written two shorts on my own: The Misery of Melody, a romantic comedy, and The Train Station, a drama. I’ve also co-written two shorts with Andy Patel: Chase and Brotherly Love.
